The FSIX Board of Directors
Stephen Anderson
Virgilio VG Bucu
or VG, has been an active member of New York City’s LGBT community for a decade. He started his activism with GLSEN's NYC Chapter and became Co-Chair from 1999 – 2000 and was a Youth Adviser in collaboration with the LGBT Community Center’s then Youth Enrichment Services’ Breaking Walls Building Bridges along with NYU from 1998-2000. He was on the Board of Directors of Out Professionals (OP) from 2000 to 2005 and is still an Honorary Board Member. He was also one of the co-founding executive council members of Out & Equal NY Metro. On the political side, VG was Co-chair of the Board of Governors of the Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC from 2005-2006 and he served on the executive committee of HRC/NYC (1999-2001) and was a past member of the Manhattan Borough President’s LGBT Advisory Committee (1999-2001). He has also help raised funds for various not-for-profit organizations by being on the Host Committees of: HRC Annual Gala Night (1999-2001); Cocktails & Conversations (2000-2005) the fundraising arm of NLGJANY; GLAAD Media Awards Executive Committee (2000-2004) and as a past Media Circle member; GLSEN’s Respect Awards and a past Honor Society member; PFLAG-NY’s Dinner Gala (1999-2005); and has been long time donor-member of NewFest, NYC’s International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival .
VG Bucu currently works as a Senior McAfee Anti-Virus Network Administrator with the NYC’s Human Resources Administration’s (HRA) MIS/IT division
Cami Capasso
joined the FSIX board in 2007. She works as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch, specializing on the specific financial planning needs of the LGBT community. Her expertise includes financial and estate planning for LGBT individuals, couples and businesses. As an active member of the community, she understands the importance of creating a sound financial plan and is committed to helping her clients achieve their goals and protect future generations. She is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, MA.
Kin Cheng
has been a board member for FSIX since 1994 and held the Presidency from 1996 to 1998. In September 2004, Kin started FSIX Los Angeles and currently organizes several events a year in Los Angeles. Currently, Kin is a Vice President in the Entertainment Industries Group at JPMorgan Securities in Los Angeles, financing film production companies such as MGM, Dreamworks, Lakeshore, and Lions Gate. Kin previously worked for Bank of America and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Jonathan Chu
Brian Jones
has been active in the Los Angeles chapter of FSIX since 2005. He is a Principal with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), the world's largest public accounting firm. Brian is a credentialed actuary and specializes in the property/casualty insurance area. He is also an active member of PwC's National GLBT Advisory Board that helps to establish national strategy to provide a more inclusive environment for GLBT employees and partners.
Gregg Katz
has been active in FSIX since 2002. In 2007, Gregg started planning FSIX events for Chicago. Currently Gregg is an Associate Director at Fitch Ratings in the structured credit group, where he has been for over three years. Gregg has a BS from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Matt Lynch
has been on the FSIX board since 2005. He is a Vice President at JPMorganChase and has worked as a project manager there for five years, first in Investment Bank Technology and now in Market Risk Reporting. Prior to joining JPMorganChase, Matt worked at Accenture for seven years. He has a B.A. from Duke University.
Fred Mariscal
Robert Mayetta
has been part of the FSIX Board since 2005. Rob has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 25 years in a variety of firms and roles, including Operations, Risk and Project Management and Strategic Development. He is currently a Vice President in HSBC’s Private Bank and is a Manager in the Risk Management Group. Rob has been active in LGBT advocacy for the past decade in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. He holds a BBA Degree in Finance from Iona College, has attended the Anderson School at UCLA’s LGBT Leadership Institute and has a Certificate in Human Resource Management from New York University.

K Sherbetdjian
has been active in FSIX since 1995, on the Board since 2004, and since 2006 has been Co-President of the organization. Professionally, K provides project management services on a freelance contract basis to financial services and consulting firms. Clients have included a top tier strategic consulting firm, a global investment bank and a multinational technology consulting firm. Previous experience includes nine years as a Vice President at Pershing LLC, a division of Bank of New York, as a project manager in brokerage operations. Typical projects included business process reengineering and performing cost-benefit analyses to support outsourcing of non-core business activities. K has a BA from Simon’s Rock College of Bard, an MBA from Columbia Business School and is completing an MS in Management and Systems at NYU.
Edward Soffer
has been a board member of FSIX for approximately two years and is currently the Co-President of the organization . He has worked in the financial services sector for almost a decade. He currently works in New York City as a financial analyst for the U.S. banking industry. Prior to that, he lived in Boston and worked in domestic and international corporate strategy and merger and acquisitions initiatives for a financial services organization.
Matthew Steiger
Matthew Steiger has been a member of the board since 2004 and has been active in FSIX for over 10 years in both New York City and Los Angeles. Matthew is an Assistant Portfolio Officer at BNY Mellon Wealth Management in downtown Los Angeles. Since relocating to Los Angeles from New York in April 2002, Matthew has worked as a Vice President/Branch Manager at Cal National Bank in West Hollywood and previously as an Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager for Bank of America in West Hollywood. Matthew worked an Associate/Project Manager for Morgan Stanley Investment Management in New York.
Matthew started his career in financial services in 1993 after graduating from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut with a BS in International Business and a minor in Modern Languages. Matthew plans to complete his certification in Personal Financial Planning (PFP) this Fall at UCLA. He plans to sit for the CFP certification exam in November.
Matthew has been active in the LGBT advocacy community since relocating to Los Angeles. Presently Matthew volunteers as a Board Member for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (LAGLCC) and as a member of the Leadership Council for the local Los Angeles Chapter of Out & Equal. Mathew has been a Team Leader coordinating Cal National and Bank of America’s participation in Los Angeles Pride and the Los Angeles AIDS Walk.
Sophiya Varghese
is an Assistant Vice President at Lehman Brothers within the Investment Management Division. Prior to joining Lehman, she worked with Deloitte Consulting specializing in their financial services practice. She has worked on several large scale technology implementation and integration projects. She has experience in designing process flows, implementing portfolio reporting engines and other financial applications for investment banks.
In addition to her duties within Lehman, Sophiya is also an active member of the Lehman Brothers Gay & Lesbian Network. Sophiya also contributes and actively participates in several LGBT-focused philanthropic and social activities within New York City.
Sophiya holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce from Delhi University, an MBA in Management Information Systems from State University of New York and is currently pursuing CFA certification.
